Payment Information

When we receive your application, it will be reviewed.  If you are accepted into the training, we will invoice you.  You will not need to pay until you have been officially accepted.  You may pay by check or PayPal, which allows you to use your credit card. Please note that the rate you pay will be based on the date we receive your application provided it is received within 30 days of notification of acceptance and invoicing. If payment is not made within 30 days, your application is subject to removal from the participant list.  

If you are placed on the wait list, you will be informed and invoiced only if there is an opening and you accept it.

We are now accepting applications for the MHIT waiting list. We encourage you to apply, as this far out from the training date, there should still be movement within the application list. If a training slot becomes available, individuals will be notified. If you are not able to make it in this cohort, we hope that you will apply next year.

Worker Information

The Mental Health Interpreter Training Program is currently seeking enthusiastic, hard-working, motivated, professional, and flexible student volunteers to work during the 2024 Institute. 

Only four student representatives are accepted annually.

Assemble electronic/scanned copies of the following:
  • Proof of enrollment in an ITP/IPP or Clinical program for the 2023-2024 academic year or graduation within the past six (6) months (schedule, transcript, etc.)
  • Letter of recommendation sent electronically from a faculty member in your ITP/IPP./Clinical program
  • Any additional documentation you wish to submit
Some duties as a student volunteer:
  • Assist Co-Coordinators monitoring attendance/late arrival
  • Registration/check-in
  • Certificates, CEUs, etc.
  • Clean up, packing up supplies
  • Poster sessions
  • Assist coordinator/co-coordinator as needed
    Please put all your electronic and/or scanned files into a single email and send it to: shannon.reese@mh.alabama.gov as part of this application process.
    Applications must be submitted by midnight, March 29, 2024, to be considered. All portions of the application must be completed, and all supporting documentation included. Incomplete applications or applications missing any supporting documentation will not be accepted. Any application submitted after March 29, 2024 will not be considered for MHIT Core 2024.
